Holiday Glitz and Glam!

All that Glitters, does not have to be gold!
Now that the holidays are approaching, it is time to think about what to wear. Whether you are going to that office party, family holiday celebration, or even a New Year’s Eve event, finding something that will make you look your best, is the key!
In my previous post on fall trends, I said one of the main trends is “shine”.  Pieces that have embellishment, metallic fabrics or sequins will make great Holiday wear. Even if you decide to go with a simple black cocktail dress, try adding glitzy accessories like really sparkly earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and maybe an embellished clutch. Try even a sparkly nail polish, like OPI’s The Muppet Movie. They have sparkle colors that come in great jewel tones.
I made a page of my favorite Holiday dress findings. I am seeing a lot of one shoulder and strapless dresses that can make you look really chic. And remember when you are shopping for your holiday dress; pick the glitz that is most flattering for your figure. If you are curvy and not exactly in the right places, don’t get a dress that is form fitting or has spandex metallic fabric, it would only accentuate the bulges you may want to hide. If you are short, try not to get dresses that are too long. A simple cocktail length dress will help you have some height and don’t forget a pretty heel.
And my advice for the late night party is foldable flats. Keep a pair handy with your coat check. When the fancy heels are not feeling so fancy, the foldable flats are here for the rescue.  Many accessory stores carry them in various colors.
Happy Shopping!
